How many stimulus payments were there?
The federal government issued a total of three (3) stimulus payments to help families cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic stimulus payments were also called Economic Impact Payments (EIP).
The IRS issued the 1st and 2nd stimulus payments in March/April and December 2020.
-The 1st stimulus payment provided up to $1,200 per eligible adult and $500 for each qualifying dependent.

- The 2nd stimulus payment provided up to $600 per eligible person (adult, child, or dependent).
- The 3rd stimulus payment was issued in March/ April 2021. The 3rd stimulus provided up to $1,400 per eligible person (adult, child, or dependent).
To check the status of stimulus payments received, you can:
1. Check your bank account statements for the dates listed above
3. Look for Letter 6475 from the IRS.
